Yeti’s Do Exist

Last month msnbc.com reported that in Katmandu, Nepal, members of a TV production team investigating the existence of the legendary Yeti in Nepal found footprints intriguing enough to merit further investigation. The team of nine producers from "Destination Truth," armed with infrared cameras, spent a week in the icy Khumbu region where Mount Everest is located and found the footprints on the bank of the Manju River at an elevation of 9,350 feet (2,850 meters). One of the three footprints found on Wednesday is about 1 foot (30 centimeters) long, with an appearance similar to those shown in sketches of the purported apelike creature, the team said. The Yeti footprint discovery incidentally coincides with the launch of this site which is a playful celebration of all things Yeti. The first Yeti to come into our lives was when our roaster team created a superb blend of beans perfect for brewing in a cold press coffee maker. The brew produces a smooth and velvety tasting coffee that is best served over ice on a hot summer day. The name Yeti Cold Press Blend seemed like a perfect fit for a coffee as cold as the mountain peaks of the Himalayas where Yetis frolic.
Shortly after we released the the coffee a Peace Coffee (hotlink to our site) customer told us about these super adorable Fair Trade Yeti ornaments made in Nepal by a group of women. The organization that markets their products is called Tibet Collection. Tibet Collection is dedicated to bringing Himalayan artisans better economic opportunities through the development and marketing efforts of their craft traditions, and to promoting greater preservation of Tibetan culture. As a committed 100% Fair Trade company we couldn’t resist buying some of these fun fair trade crafts from the talented felt makers from Nepal. The little Yeti’s quickly won the hearts of all the staff here. They have become the “office pets” we are not allowed to have. Some of us bike to work with our Yeti’s and Derek, one of our roasters, Yeti is beating him at chess on regular basis. Each Yeti is slightly different since they are made by hand. Some have bigger feet or a larger tummy, etc. Some are slightly frowning and have shorter arms. The Yeti’s can’t wait to meet new friends and be accepted in society for the furry fun creatures they truly are. Befriend a Yeti today! We encourage you to submit photos of any potential yeti sightings you've captured on film. The website will continue to grow as long as people keep submitting.
